    1. SPOILERS AHEADOkay, confession time. I never actually finished this book. Actually, I never even made it past chapter five. So why am I reviewing it you ask? Well, because this book made me so damn angry, that's why. It's not often I don't finish a book. It's only happened twice before and never out of anger, only boredom. But Candy has the dubious honour of being the first book to break my grand tradition of perseverance and for that reason, I hate it all the more.It all started off so well too. [...]

    2. For my full review please visit my blogCandy and the Broken Biscuits review @ From the Shadows I ReviewI really liked the story of this. It did take a few chapters to get going as the author found her stride with the plot though. I've decided to forgive her though as this is her debut novel and there are bound to be a few teething issues. The plot isn't too serious and is a bit far-fetched but I liked that. It was a nice escape from the more serious YA that I've been reading (If you can call Mor [...]

    3. Stop! Mum - do NOT buy this book for your teenage daughter. If you are aged between 9 1/4 and 10 1/2 and your folks moved out from Muswell Hill to Bumfuk, Hobbitshire so you could play ponies this might be your thing. Loads of the reviews are by parents who probably love this but you need to know that Lauren Lavender (prolly not her real name - who were Kennicky anyways?)comes across as that aunty that thinks she's still cool *cringe* and tries to relate to you. She's got characters saying "dude [...]

    4. Candypop (1) - Candy and the Broken Biscuits by Lauren LaverneMy rating: I liked this book alot, since it wasn't only about a girl finding her own place in the world (not that this wasn't good), but also about music. See, i am a complete music freak. Love it, loveitloveitloveit. I play the guitar, the violin, the piano, and i'm (hoping to!) learn how to play the drums. And i could relate to Candy about how she could feel the music inside her, and how it felt to her like she was destined for some [...]

    5. This is a very sweet, endearing book about a young girl struggling with the typical teenage issues. It had a nice, unexpected supernatural element which I thought was interesting, and set it apart from most other books if its genre. I had worried that it'd follow the Georgia Nicholson formula a little too closely, but I couldn't be more wrong. True, the hurdles Candy has to overcome aren't far removed from the Angus Things series, but that's becaue they're the things girls face. The emphasis on [...]

    6. This book was amazing and it is a good book for a summer read I think. The plot of this book was just wow the whole story got you wondering and the authors writing that she used in the writing was superb. I loved this book and I think there should be another one and I would go out and buy it right away.
