    About Michele L. Montgomery

    1. I live my life believing I believe that all of us can do anything we want to do I believe that each goal we set for ourselves can be met if we strive to meet that goal, no matter what bumps we have to jump over to attain it I don t believe in fear I believe in the power of love Fear has the power to stop me, to control me and lead me to failure Love has the power to guide me over the most difficult of mountains with a smile on my face and a rush of warmth in my heart.I m a writer at heart, I love to tell stories and though most of what comes out of my imagination can appear a little off the beaten path, that s because it is Though all of my stories contain romance to a point, there s a lot angst, D s, sometimes off the wall characters who know love and romance doesn t always happen overnight and it can be a struggle to find the right person for them So, if angst, drama, a bit of D s mixed in with romance isn t your thing, then I probably won t be either.I am bringing something different to the table with my stories and I hope you enjoy them.If you d like to get the know the characters from the Lethal Obsession series please visit and join lethalobsession You can also find me at top2bottomreviews.wordpress

    1. When you hear about a kidnapping – the first thing that naturally comes to ones mind is where, when and how was the child taken, is there a chance to rescue him/her and you all pray that the child is not traumatized in anyway possible. But what if the kidnapping is an adult kidnapping, what if it’s done by a family member and what if no one believes you. This is where Michele Montgomery pulls me into RIVER OF TEARS. The book is told in total hindsight and I looking back now, I think that is [...]

    2. Wow . . . how do you put into words such a chilling story? Michelel L.Montegomery’s “River of Tears” is a story that will stick with you long after you’ve finished the book. I read this book in two days and had a hard time putting it down. I have never read about a family so twisted, sickening and hateful as Caiden’s in this story. Michele tells her story in a very straightforward manner that makes you feel as if you’re going through the hell that Abby is herself fighting. The pain C [...]

    3. Oh my. I’m not real sure how to even start this review and I’m certain anything I say isn’t going to do this story justice. It was amazing, horrifying, inspiring, sob inducing and evoked so many different emotions from me while I was reading it, that it’s rather difficult to summarize my thoughts on it all up with a few words. Truth be told, it wasn’t till the last hundred pages or so that I really grasped what was going on in the book.Caiden, is a married man, a father, a loving husba [...]

    4. The Perfect Combination of Chilling Terror & Passionate RomanceMichele L. Montgomery introduces herself beautifully as a first-time author in her suspenseful romance River of Tears. This modern-day drama chronicles the relationship of Abby and Caiden, a young couple who experience love at first sight and eventually marry and begin a life together. Abby narrates the story and relates a shocking tale of deceit, betrayal, and what appears to be abandonment. When her husband suddenly becomes mis [...]

    5. Ms. Montgomery uses strong emotions, descriptive passages, faith, and even man's ability to be cruel to man to grab and hold the reader's attention in this unusual tale of a man kidnapped by his own family and the love of his life who relentlessly searches for him. Many paragraphs brought tears to my eyes and others put a smile on my face. I was haunted by the despair of loss and then uplifted by the love of family depicted so believably as I turned the pages. I normally am not caught up in book [...]

    6. I've read and reviewed this author's fiction a few times before on this (my) blog, but in all cases, up until now, those books and stories have been M/M Romance. As a M/M Romance author Michele is clearly one of the straight women writing in the genre who really knows how to nail it and get it right. So when she sent me a pre-release copy of "River of Tears," I was a little apprehensive about reading it because it wasn't M/M Romance this time. If I had to classify RoT in a bookstore, I would pro [...]

    8. “River of Tears” is the kind of story that you don’t believe could be true. It’s the kind of story that you might conclude is stranger than fiction, and if it were fiction you’d probably be inclined to observe that such a storyline is an unlikely contrivance. This is a story about families. One family begins with young love, marriage, and a perspective on the future that bodes nothing but bliss. The other family, the young husband’s birth family, is haunted by demons that have somehow [...]

    9. I received a complimentary copy of this book to review for Hearts On Fire Reviews. The opinions expressed are very much mine alone and I am not required to give a positive critique.I've heard great things about Michele L. Montgomery, but this was my first read of her work. In all fairness, I understand that River of Tears is not her usual genre. The plot itself is a riveting one of adult abduction and the struggles faced by those left behind. Abby's character has so much to deal with, trying to [...]

    10. Abby marries the love of her life her soul mate but years after he is married she still don’t know a lot of his past just that it was bad. Soon she is forced to find out when he comes missing and it is so hard to believe the things she is forced to see.I will warn you that this story is hard to read. The things Caiden go through are so horrendous you just don’t want to know. I don’t know if I could be as strong as Abby and have waited so long and tried so hard. I really wanted to kill his [...]

    11. I'm the type of person that finds it very hard to just sit down and enjoy a book without something popping up in my head and making me forget what I was even reading. When I picked up "River Of Tears" I couldn't put it down. The characters in the book were amazing I could actually picture each person and see all of them growing up and becoming more and more stronger. The book shows you a world that a lot of people don't ever see or even bother to understand. I would suggest this book to everyone [...]

    12. River of Tears is a very captivating. I have not been a big book reader. Once I started reading this book, it was so intreging that I found myself pulled back to it until it was finished. It was almost like I was standing beside her the whole way. It brought out emotions that I did not expect. The emotions of love and anger that Abby was going through, the anger, pain, betrayal and confusion that Caiden was going through can be easily felt by the reader. It was like a movie that has "To Be Conti [...]

    13. I am completely perplexed by this book.As I was reading it, I was consistently distracted by the grammatical errors. I'm no editing genius, but this book desperately needed an editor. Also, the couple's love life was fantasy perfect, except for Caiden's horrific family story. It was a definite page turner, but at the same time I kept thinking I was just reading two different extremes- fairy-tale romance versus mind-numbing abuse. Maybe because I deal with real domestic violence situations this ju [...]

    14. Mind blowing.I don't have words to describe the way in which this book literally twisted my insides.I was gripping my iPad so tightly, trying to get through the seemingly endless chapters of the most unbelievably painful tale I have ever read. I was taken in at the first page and held on, white-knuckled, as my head was spinning, spent and tearful until the final revealing pages.unreal, simply unreal.

    15. I picked this book up and could not put it down. This is not something i would normally have read but it a great read. Very powerful story. I have never even heard of an adult kidnapping before and Michelle Montgomery writes with such passion and a gentle tone but so thrilling edge of your seat at the same time. Making your heart ache as you are reading what mankind can do. Things unimaginable by our society.

    16. The author really pulls you into her story with the plaintive voice of the narrator, a young woman whose husband has been kidnapped by his own very sick and twisted family. This story is a powerful testimony to the power of enduring love and the belief that good will eventually triumph.

    18. Disturbing. Only read if you are prepared for that. There are a few holes in the plot but if you can get past those it is a worthwhile, quick read.
