    1. There are only 90 pages more to go, but I can't bring myself to finish this. This book just annoys me too much.First of all the prerequisites of the story. Seventeen-years-old Ariel Jane Ashe and Ryan Fraser have been together for five happy months. They are very much in love, but A.J.'s mom and Ryan's dad, who have been dating four of these five months, decided to marry in a hurry in order to end this thing between A.J. and Ryan in the earlier stages of their relationship. So it hurts less. "Yo [...]

AJ has fangs and occasionally craves blood, but she has also suppressed many of her vamp instincts to fit into "normal" society. The part that's not normal - AJ's mom is marrying her boyfriend's father.AJ knows she can't be with Ryan, especially now that they are step-siblings. The reality of the situation doesn't make it hurt [...]

    3. Diversity Rating: 0 – What Diversity? Racial-Ethnic: 0 LGBT: -1 Disability: 0 Intersectionality: 0Vampire books will always be my first love. Sure, I read a lot more contemporary now and far less paranormal, but paranormal YA is what made me a reader and will always have a place in my heart. A comedic vampire novel sounded like fun, especially when priced at less than $5 (thanks, Book Outlet!). At times, Bite Me! was a lot of fun and made me giggle. Overall, it’s a disappointment that’s ki [...]

    4. Naturally I'm going to give my own book 5 stars. I mean, if I didn't think it was awesome, why should you buy it?I'll tell you what I like most about BITE ME! The heroine is a teenage vampire. But she struggles with that part of her identity. She just wants to be 'normal.' So she has spent a good deal of her 17 years ignoring her vampire side and now that some really bad stuff is going down, she's kinda starting to regret it.Plus there's the whole "I'm in love with my step-brother storyline" tha [...]

    5. This was a fun, quick read about a teenage vampire girl and her new blended family. I enjoyed the voice of Ariel. She's sarcastic and funny and at times heartbreaking. There is lots of mystery running througout this story and some big surprises along the way. I enjoy when I don't know exactly where the story is going or who's the villain.I liked what the author did with vampire lore here, making it new and different, bringing in some of their history.I don't want to get into the actual details of [...]

    7. I really like the whole idea about AJ (Ariel Jane) being a vampire but who is just like a teenage girl. She encounters these problems, boy problems, and some family issues. The plot got a bit boring when I was in the middle of the story. I don't know but I just did, I felt like there's nothing here anymore. That was just for a short time while reading the book, but it then got better after a while. The plot was very smooth, the book went well, everything was planned well, the bits and pieces of [...]

    8. My Thoughts: Whoa. This book was amazing. I love a good vampire story and lately have been left longing for a really good one. This book was that. I loved Bite Me. It started off with AJ's mom marrying Ryan's Dad making Ryan her stepbrother. Of course AJ is totally in love with this boy so that puts a damper on things. she starts doing research on her family history and it leds to some amazing discoveries. Later in the story we find out Ryan's family history which fits really well into AJ's fami [...]

    9. Bite Me! is everything a teenager could want in a book. Fast paced, with witty, realistic characters, fun plot twists, and a hunky hero. (Okay, so it's everything any adult woman would want in a book too!) AJ Ashe isn't your typical teenage girl. She's a vampire. But vampires in Bite Me! aren't of the blood sucking variety. They drink hemo-shakes, go out in the daylight and live and play amongst the rest of us. (Think closet vampires). So when AJ's mother (who's divorced) remarries, being a vamp [...]

    10. I didn't think there could possibly be another unique vampire story out there. But I read Bite Me and was hooked from word one! I loved Melissa'a voice, it was so funny and I laughed out loud more than a dozen times. How horrible would it be to find a guy you really like then find out he was going to be your step-brother. Ugh! And that's not even the most bizarre part of it all! This story was funny and heartwarming and I cannot wait for the next one.

    11. Quick fun read about a girl and guy in love but been asked to cool it from their parents who are now married to each other! I felt so badly for them because in all fairness they were together before their parents were and to watch them try to move on with other folks knowing how they feel for each other. Add the girl being a vampire to the mix and her new family not knowing it and we really do have a kink in the story!

    13. This book felt extremely fake. Not just because it's about vampires. Personally, I love vampire stories, but something about the language and all of the things that the main characters did and said just bugged me. I think that it all felt a bit too forced, and the angsty relationship between the step siblings got annoying.

Having a new family causes quite a few problems for AJ as she has to stop seeing a guy she is insane about because he is now her brother and she also hide the fact that she's a vampire. Breaking up with Ryan was the hardest thing that AJ has ever had to do but knows it is for the best. At the party for the last day of summer, Ryan turns up with another girl, Lindsey and AJ can't cope with it. Even though she knows she isn't supposed to (because of [...]

    16. There were so many things I hated about this book.Firstly what sort of parent starts dating their child's boyfriend/girlfriend's parent, marries the parent and then tells the child to break it off with their boyfriend/girlfriend. It's just a horrible thing to do, if you're going to argue that your child wasn't that serious about their boyf. (AJ's mum actually said there are other boys out there) hello you've been dating the parent less time! It's just such a horrible thing to do. The worst thing [...]

While she’s happy that her mother is marrying the man of her [...]

    20. There are a lot of things to like about Bite Me!, the debut novel by Melissa Francis. First of all, the protagonist, AJ Ashe, is a high school girl who actually is a vampire, rather than being a doe-eyed girlfriend of a vampire. AJ doesn't even like being a vampire, and has spent most of her life being as perfect as she can to compensate. I also liked the basic plot: AJ's mom marries AJ's boyfriend Ryan's dad, and they are forbidden to date despite their deep deep lurve for each other. That's go [...]

She now has to live under the same roof with her ex-boyfriend-step-brother whom she still has feelings for, not to mention his two brothers Rayden and Oz, her twin sisters Ana and Ainsley and Aunt Doreen. Along with that human chaos, she has to learn how to control her vampire side, something she ignored for the past 17 years of her life. At the summer bon fire, she accidently bites her rebound, Noah, and turns him into a vampire, or did s [...]

When AJ tries to rebound with badboy Noah and he tries to take things too far, she accidentally bites him before Ryan shows up, ready to make sure Noah never bothers AJ again. But the next day, AJ discovers that Noah is dead. 23. Melissa Francis is a terrific writer and I am SO excited to find out what's next for her. Bite Me was a completely original and enjoyable novel and I finished it in a couple of days.AJ is a head strong, independent main character who is surprisingly relatable. While she is a vampire, AJ is also dealing with regular things and living a normal life for a seventeen year old girl. I loved how down to earth AJ was and how she made readers want to be friends with her. Unfortunately things start to get [...]

AJ and Ryan are star-crossed loverst only are they now step sister and brother thanks to a "Brady Bunch" like wedding (I've included the lyrics at the bottom of this review - ha!) but they also each have a mysterious family secret they've been keeping from one another. Their new family situation tests the boundaries of love and leaves the reader painfully waiting for a sequel. Initially, I admit that I judged this book by its cover. The image of the blond girl on the cover with a scripted title [...]

    25. *4.5*Just when I thought vampires were officially over, Bite Me! ended up in my hands, and boy, was it fantastic (or fangtastic. Get it? Yes, I know my jokes are lame)! It definitely is one of my favorite paranormal romances of the year! AJ Ashe has a lot of secrets. For one, she's a blood-drinking vampire, though mind you, she's civilized and doesn't drink from humans most of the time. Second of all, she has a big crush one a guy named Ryan, who likes her as much as she likes him, but the probl [...]

I was glued to the pages and found it difficult to stop reading, but there were a few elements that I really didn't enjoy.I thought that Bite Me! was a fresh take on vampires and I really enjoyed learning a bit about them through AJ's perspective. AJ has a fun, witty voice and she had me laughing at some of her comments! I really felt for her situation with Ryan. They had to break up with each other when their parents got married and it just di [...]

    27. Completely based off of the summary I went in thinking this book is gonna be, like, so stupid *giggles then pops bubble gum*. But it wasn’t it. It was a smidge of creepy stalker guy, hot but you-cannot-think-he-is-hot-cause-he-is-your-stepbrother-and-that-would-be-really-gross-if-you-do sibling, and the occasional “holy shit I can fly!?” attitudes. It was a fun, fast roller coaster ride that left me wanting the sequel now! AJ is definitely not one those bubble gum princess I had imagined b [...]

    28. Melissa Francis has gained a new fan! Bite Me! was a cute, short, and fun read. It wasn't spectacular writing or that the characters were out of this world, no it was the simplest thing of all. Bite Me! was pure romantic, supernatural, action packed drama in a big ball of fun. Every now and then you need to read a book that doesn't require you to look for the hidden meaning or soul search. The characters in the book were easy to connect to despite them being supernatural beings. AJ Ashe is a rea [...]

    29. I really enjoyed this book and pretty much flew through it. Francis' debut is full of romance/forbidden love (but not the usual!), mystery, wrongful accusing, and a fresh take on vampires. I loved AJ's sarcasm and snarkiness and her personality and life was so interesting to read about. This book pulls you in and keeps you turning pages, wanting to know more and more of how she'll deal with everything that comes up. The cover makes it look like a fun, light vampire read, but don't be fooled- the [...]

    30. Bite Me is a wonderful debut from an author I'll be keeping my eye on, Melissa Francis. The witty dialogue and compelling plot she has produced prove that she knows what she's doing. This novel was some-what a part of the romance genre. I liked the coupling in the novel, but didn't like the situation of it. AJ and her ex are just recently step-siblings and are still in love with each other. At first, the sibling factor added a new twist and I thought that maybe something would happen, like their [...]
