    2. DNF at 33%Kate and VaxaKate is a chubby 30 year old that Vaxa wins 'gladiator style' for his mate, after she is abducted in her sleep by the aliens who run the arena. The author does try to create a credible 'alien' with an alien culture, but it is still just another 7 foot tall hottie alpha with an impossibly big schlong. Oh yeah, and of course he is the ruler of his world (roll my eyes). I really didn't understand what he saw in Kate. If it weren't for the instant mating lust She waffles betwe [...]

    3. I honestly have no idea how to review this. I didn't expect much, but what I got was oddly sweet. Kinda Stockholm-y? There's a lot of intergalactic Twilight similarities (insta-mating3eva, blood sucking, and sparkly bodily fluids), but this is I have no words. It's a quick read. And there's aliens who are kinda hot? It's cute. But weird. But cute.

    4. I will start this review by saying that I intend to read the next book in the series. With that said I have to admit to only marginally enjoying this book. The hero was a selfish jerk. He redeemed himself in the last 10% but the initial impression was hard to shake. He never really gives the heroine any choices.Heroine makes hero realise he could do more for the other human women, but he doesn't begin to act on that conviction until 4 weeks after he's taken his bride.SoMeh.Fated Mates Recommende [...]

    5. Is this the worst book of this genre I have read ? No, there are real stinkers out there and I have encountered more than few . Is it any good ? Definitely not. This is a dull paint-by-numbers in dull shades of beige. Two particular things filled my eye-rolling quota: 1. He constantly addresses her as " female " and she calls him Vaxa. Now, in Russian Vaxa means wax so I could not get the image of furniture polish out of my mind and there is nothing enticing about a can of Mr Sheen. 2. Note to N [...]

    6. Finally, something different! Finally something different! I like this book, it has sex and compassion. I also liked the fact that the hero of the story wasn't just completely alpha and a jerk just because he's an alien. No quarter given. The heroine was not TSTL. She struggled with her growing emotions for an appropriate amount of page space. And in the end everyone gets it all. But there is still unfinished business. Until book 2 see y'all later bye.

    7. Kate Harper found herself chained and naked with other women in a huge arena. The audience around them was comprised of all sorts of aliens, some humanoid, others just blobs of a gelatinous substance. An announcer said something, then chaos erupted as two aliens entered the arena to battle for his pick of the women. And one of the aliens was staring directly at Kate!Vaxa’an took his mate back to his ship and they headed for his planet. Kate tried to convince him to take her home, but that woul [...]

    8. I read this book on a recommendation of another author. She sold me the book with the three words of the title. And seriously - I am so glad I read this!I love the way it started. The author has built a beautiful world. Whether it was the planet Pit or the planet Luxuria - it was a pleasure reading what the planet looked like. The characters - I like that they're flawed. They have egos, but their bond overrides their ego. That was a beauty to read. And seriously - that was some smoking hot sex! Y' [...]

    9. Good distractionI wasn’t enamored of the characters and I don’t think Kate needs a second book so I’ll skip the next book and see about book three instead. The story was fine, but there were some cringe-worthy moments. Kate wasn’t meant to be TSTL, but the author had some after thoughts that she added into her world-building that made Kate seems TSTL. I’m way more interested in Beks that I was in Kate, who wasn’t exceptionally memorable. Also her alien warrior has a name I cannot for [...]

    10. Ok usually I don't like alien/sci-fi romances but I actually really liked this one. So Kate is abducted from her home on Earth only to wake up to a nightmare of epic portions. She is on an alien planet, chained, naked and about to be sold? Then we meet Vaxa'an, Prime Leader of his planet, 7 ft tall, gokden/silvery skin with a ridged tongue and penis that emits opalescence cum? Hell yeah! Lol. He goes to a planet and participates in a fight to win one of the women because of a plague on his own p [...]

    11. Kate is abducted and sent to a pit where aliens fight and win one of the abducted women as their prize. Vaxa'an goes to the pit just looking for a breeder, but when he steps in and realizes his mate is there, he makes quick work of his enemy and snatches up Kate and practically runs back to his ship. Vaxa'an is not something Kate can pronounce so she calls him Vaxa, which sort of irritated me because Vaxa sounds so feminine. I wish she would have called him Vax instead. Anyway, small issue. Vaxa [...]

    12. Cliffhanger Alert - HFN EndingThis was a well-written book and had pretty good world building. There is a HFN conclusion, but the story continues in book 2. I liked it more than most of these space alien/kidnapped curvy Earth girl books. The H and h are not perfect individuals and I don't expect that in my MC s, because they are more realistic that way.The smex was hot and well written. No typos that I noticed. Recommended for readers that like this genre. One downside was the difficult alien word [...]

    13. Hot & cold more hot than coldThis story started of exciting. Then the heroine turned into a Dorothy wannabe, " I just want to go home". In fact she was so sure she made the comment " you & I both know I will not be going there", meaning the hero's planet, because she was going back to Earth. She was in outer space, no clothes of her own, no transportation & introduced to the fact that aliens do exist and she was bossing around the only alien who cared about her. What a bossy B. She d [...]

    14. Good bookGood book but not one I would read again. I can see why it got such good reviews but it's not my taste. I don't like books where the h wants to leave the H the entire book. As a matter of fact, as soon as I read a book where the h says she's going to escape back to earth, I stop reading it. In my opinion it's completely rediculous for the h to think she has any chance of escaping back to earth. It's just dumb. I stuck it out and it ended up being a good read, but honestly had I known th [...]

    15. 4.5Good book and it flowed well. I will read the next one in the series also. The thing that bugs me about these books is the girl is always the same. I love the plot alien race needs to look outside to find help with future generations. Some people think it has been over done. I don't agree at all, I think it is a great plot. What I think has been over done it the lead female, plus size check, wants to go home check, doesn't really have a life she left behind that she loved check, she just harp [...]

    16. A great read to start off a new series! The Alien's Prize starts with the leading lady (LL) awakening on alien vessel far from home with other human females. Kate soon is introduced to the Pit, a place where alien males will fight to the death to win their pick of a female. This fight for Vaxa'an may be the last chance for his people to find mates and end their fears of extinction When he spots Kate, all bets are off . He knows she is his one and will defeat every fighter for her. This story rea [...]

    17. 3 starsUnoriginal theme, however i still enjoyed it. I really liked the writers ability to dream up planets and strange alien races. She even throws in some alien language. Ill admit the whole alien abduction thing works for me. He was weird looking but still very sexy. I liked how they had their own culture brought into the book too. Gave the book another dimension. The hero was a sexy alien warrior. Very likeable. Royality of his race. Very average in terms of women, but that made her likeable [...]

    18. Well written sci-fi romance. Ok. So we've seen this plot before. Aliens who lose all their females for mysterious reasons and have to snag humans to continue their race. Etc. this one is absolutely worth reading even if you are tired of that plot line. Kate is a simple Chicago girl who wakes up abducted. She handles it well, with grace and as much logic as one could muster in her shoes. She is won as a prize by a giant scaly yet handsome warrior who fights to the death to win his mate. Vaxa'an i [...]

    19. I finally got antibiotics for my ear infection - thank goodness - but I'm still finding myself looking for sweet, brainless romances that are both new-to-me and familiar enough to work as comfort reads. This totally fit the bill. The writing was competent, the characters were appealing (despite the capture/slaver set up; I'll be really happy when this trend DIAF), and the story was zippy enough it distracted me from being sick.

    20. After having just read Amanda Milo's books I found The Alien's Prize rather ordinary with sex as a superficial filler. It's the same plot line as most in this genre and I really could not find anything that distinguishes it from other's. The author can obviously write but should focus on writing a compelling story rather than relying on sex.we get it, big attraction, lots of sex, but a good book can't rely solely on that.

    21. Holy crap, its so goodLoved, loved, loved. Vaxa and Kate are couples goals. I felt their chemistry flowing from the pages. Joey did a great job of writing the emotions of each character and you can relate to all of it. I routed for this couple since the beginning. YAY, it's part of a series. I kinda want this planet to exists in real life just so I can vist/live there one day :)

    22. Take me away!I read this in one sitting! I loved the characters and the sex and the love was hot, hot, hot. I can't wait for the next book. Great start to a series. The planet that our characters are on has been infected with a virus that has either killed or rendered the females infertile. Our human heroine is the first on the planet to become pregnant. The next in the series will hopefully continue with that story.

    23. As guilty pleasure reads with aliens in them go, this was a rather good one. The book was well written and very light and easy to read. I wouldn't have minded for it to be longer and have more facts about the alien species and have more interactions with the Luxiria race, but alas. You can't have everything. Maybe all that will be remedied in the future books.Overall, it was a surprisingly good read.

    24. Surprised!Sometimes free or discounted books aren't really that well written or developed. Well this book was both and so much more. I liked that characters and the story keeps you turning the pages.Kate is kidnapped and brought to a strange arena where Aliens fight for woman. A worrier alpha wins her but Kate doesn't know that she not just a prize but the aliens mate.

    25. Well, I know everyone has different tastes in romance. I actually haven't read any sci-fi romance that I've actually enjoyed enough. But this one was just HOT!! (albeit dirty) wink * wink *All those love scenes aside, I liked Vaxa's character and personality. He has more going for him over his male Earthling counterparts. LOL

    27. Some of this was great, but a lot was the same old well copied tropes. The h had a boring life on earth, but she was too TSTL. She's in an alien world, the H openly adores her, she's bargaining about staying for a month, like she was on holiday. She was rude, not sweet, not feisty, just rude and crude. The H was OK, bit bland, a prince of course, with some interesting alien bits and pieces. OK.

    28. 4.5 starsAlmost a 5 star, the only reason I didn’t give it a five star is because the heroin in the story can get rather annoying. But do not let that get in the way of reading this book because this is an amazing alien/human mating that you do not want to miss!!

    29. This is a dumb thing to be bugged by butAll the aliens that come in contact with the human, female MC get the English language uploaded to their brains. Wouldn’t it make more sense for her to get their language put her brain?
