    1. This was my first favorite book I read on my own as a kid. I'll never forget it. I got it as a souvenir from For Michilimacinac up in northern Michigan. I read it and read it and read it. It's about a young boy and his many adventures with the indians, French, etc it takes place in the northern area of Michigan in the 1700 to 1800's.
