    1. There's nothing better than queer fairy tale retellings. Am I right or am I right? *_*However, in this case I have mixed feelings. There are stories that I loved, stories that I had to force myself to finish, and stories that were just meh. Also, most of the stories feature a m/m romance and, in some of the retellings, the main character being gay or lesbian (I think some of them might be bi or pan, but this isn't stated on page) is the only fact that diverges from the original story. So I would [...]

    2. Oh wow, what a pack of amazing stories all themed around the idea of fairytales with gay and lesbian characters. There was only one story featuring a trans protagonist, but I think that was my favourite one of this collection: 'The Mercenary's Wedding' by Keelan Ellis starts with a queen begging a fairy queen to grant her wish to have a daughter after having many sons. This has unexpected consequences as time goes on. However, what I really loved was the interplay between the mercenary who falls [...]

    3. I'm a big fan of fairytales and this was a great book with a different take on favourites.I hadn't read a few of them before but i loved them anyway. Each story was lovely and so easy to understand from start to finish. I've read a few of the authors previously but I was happy to learn of more. Can't wait for another volume to come out and I've already purchased volumes 1&2 this week.

    4. Very enjoyable!FAIRYTALES SLASHED VOLUME 7 contains short stories that have their roots in fairy tales, and while there are some that are retellings, others like After Ever After by Nicole Field, for example, imagines what happens to Cinderella (Lotte in the story) after her marriage to the prince.I enjoyed all the offerings in this volume; each was well-written and well-thought out, with no grammatical errors or typos that I can see. I particularly enjoyed No Witch's Brew by Helena Maeve. The w [...]

    5. Fairytales Slashed Volume 7 is another delightful collection of varied LGBT tales, all offering spins on a fairytale theme. As always, while I enjoyed all the stories, some stood out for me, and those are: In the Land of the Damned by Camillia Quinn, The Mercenary's Wedding by Keelan Ellia, Bearskin by Andrea Speed and After Ever After by Nicole Field.Disclaimer: This anthology includes one of my own stories; however, my review pertains only to the others in the collection.

    6. A collection of 8 gender slashed fairy tales. Most of these were pretty cute. Some stories are very sexually explicit, you have been warned.Since it’s an anthology I’ll do a mini review of each individual short story using the summaries from the book (and also on ).Diversity: +8Race/Ethnicity: +2 Culture: +2 (Some used a basis of folk tales from different countries)Gender: +2 Physical Disability: +/-2 (Like classic fairy tales, several fell into much of the same tropes about ugliness and phy [...]

    7. At Last! Apr 13, 2017 Something felt missing from this anthology.  I think it was the barest bones of a tale spun into something else that I didn't thrill to.  Each story was well-written but too far from the original.  Some were not known to me-- or maybe they were just a bit too off-centered to recognize.  Either way,  I applaud these authors for their varying viewpoints and efforts. As far as the romance went,  I was happy that when given lemons they made a meringue pie complete with a d [...]

    8. Interesting takes on favorite classics. This is the 7th anthology in the FairyTale Slashed anthology series and is the least favorite of the set. This volume contains 8 stories; many great and a few which weren’t my kind of reading and one so far from what I have come to expect from this anthology that I honestly don’t get and just cannot relate!Story 1: After Ever After – Nicole FieldsAbsolutely not my cup of tea. This novella rates as seriously Weak Sauce and serious disservice to what I [...]

    9. ARC, NetGalley, etc. This was cute! Some of the stories were stronger than the others--I couldn't make it more than a virtual page and a half through "The Thief's Daughter" because I can't bear that kind of tuff-chik first-person voice--but I enjoyed most of the stories. Standouts: Bearskin by Andrea Speed - A former soldier makes a deal with the devil: spend three years as an bear pelt-clad outcast, and you get all the wealth you want. Fail, and go to hell. This had the most pitch-perfect fairy [...]
