    1. Jack Thompsen's children's eBook, The Girl Who Hated Australia, is a humorous story about a seven-year-old girl, Jorie, who doesn't want to go on a family vacation to Australia. She protests against going on the trip no matter what her parents say to entice her. Jorie continues to protest throughout the journey until she goes for a swim in the ocean.I like the way the author employs the use of rhyme to tell the tale. I also enjoyed the whimsical illustrations along with the meaning of the story. [...]

    2. “The Girl Who Hated Australia” written by Jack Thompsen otherwise known as "Not So Serious Jack" and illustrated by Ignacio G. is a simple story about a seven year old girl, Jorie. She is a girl with rich imagination which in the story hinders with the vacation plans her parents have made. It appears that she has never travelled anywhere outside home and hence is apprehensive about visiting a new place- Australia. So, when she is told that they will be visiting Australia, her imagination run [...]

    3. The girl who thought she would hate Australia but didn't after all!Wow! What a trip to Australia! To be that this girl Jori said she hated Australia before ever knowing or ever seeing and experiencing this new treat/vacation with her parents. This ebook even had some beautiful illustrations as well. So, for these reasons I would like to recommend this ebook for five stars as well as for kids ages 4-9 &+! I received this ebook for free and in return, here is my honest review.Great work Jack! [...]

    4. I read it to my kids during a trip and they too could relate with a kid facing many unknowns and slowly trying new things. Would absolutely recommend.

    5. An excellent picture book about a girl who struggles with doing something new and eventually comes to realise that not all new things are bad or scary, but are actually fun and exciting. I still swear this book was written about me. It hits on a personal level. The title is one I have mentioned over and over and over for many many years since I had to leave (home) New Zealand and move to Australia. So I knew I just had to read this. Plus I really liked the pictures. Bright, colourful and just be [...]

    6. The Girl Who Hated Australia is a sweet story about a little girl whose parents take her on a family vacation to Australia. Throughout the entire vacation Jorie is determined to show her dislike for everything associated with this trip. From the airplane ride, the food, to the places they visit. Of course, as the trip goes on she starts to find activities that are enjoyable.Jack Thompsen, writes a story that captures your attention from the beginning. The reader immediately knows what the story [...]

    7. You know the problem; your child declares he hates something when he’s never even tried it. Jeez, that’s annoying. The Girl who hated Australia tackles the issue head on. I thought the title was brilliant. Seven year old Jorie couldn’t just hate something small, like peas or brushing her hair. No, she has to hate the whole continent of Australia. Genius. The illustrations are colourful and attractive. The artist has really captured Jorie’s foul moods. The story is told in rhyme and there [...]
