    4. Great illustrations. Fun, lighthearted adventure that reminds me of Geronimo Stilton's series.

    6. Top pilots from Cat Allied Troups are assembled for a an important briefing. They are told Major Tom has gone missing behind enemy lines! It must be kept secret so the public don’t panic when they learn their hero has been captured by dogz. Not to mention finding him before he is forced to give up any information.Claude D’Bonair (a young-gun pilot), immediately volunteers to go in and find him. But he's reminded that his last mission didn't go that well. He was forced to land by the Red Sett [...]

    7. Bumped up to four because of the awesome illustrations, but otherwise this was going to be a three I'm afraid. Aimed at a younger audience than Monkey Boy, which I loved, this was understandably shorter and less involved. The plot was fine, I guess, but it lacked the real humour of MB, and the characters felt flat. The lack of female characters in MB didn't bother me because it was completely appropriate to the setting, and when I opened this I thought, "ah, someone's trying to include more girl [...]

    8. Brilliant right to the end. I'm a huge fan of Donovan Bixley and his illustrations and he's very much an inspiration to my work so naturally I'd love this novel and give it a high rating. Not only is this a funny and silly book for older kids it's also educational without drilling it into your head that you're learning something. Donovan has made these cool diagrams of planes and gadgets and numbered them up to explain what everything does. Of course the gadgets are just for fun but quite a bit i [...]
