    About Wendy Vella

    1. Writing is something Wendy has always found time for, and as an incurable romantic, the romance genre was a natural fit When her children were small, she would find writing time in the early hours of the morning, sitting quietly with her grandfather s old typewriter while the family slept These works, however, she says, will never see the light of day She joined Romance Writers of New Zealand and started honing her craft, and after years of contests and conferences, she was finally ready to publish her first book 28 books later she is still providing her reader with compelling love stories, laced with humor, sensuality, and intrigue After hitting the best seller ranks on with her historical series, including the Langley Sisters and Regency Rakes, Wendy has moved into contemporary, and historical paranormal romance also, and loving every minute of it Born and raised in a rural area in the North Island of New Zealand, she shares her life with her husband of 32 years, two grown up children, and her old dog Molly and is a true Patriotic Kiwi

    1. 3.75 starsI wasn't sure how much I would love this one because Mathew wasn't the most likeable person in the second book but he grew on me at the very end so this was his chance to win me over. I definitely did liked him but I loved Patience. Patience holds the responsibility in taking care of here sister and younger brother. Her crazy cousin is hell-bent on killing her brother so he can inherit the title. Patience has a lot of pressure on her to protect her family and I greatly admire her for i [...]

    2. Really 2.5 stars, but rounded up to 3.This was a pleasant read with not much angst but a bit of a murder plot going on.The heroine is fiercely protective of her family and both she and her sister and little brother have learnt to fence and shoot etc. which is quite cute. She is extremely independent and resourceful although in the end, (of course) she needs the hero's help to deal with the would-be assassin.Nicely written comfort story with capable, attractive heroine and a handsome, good-hearted [...]

    3. What was it that Matthew had done that made Patience kept those anger for seven years? The blurb was misleading. Wait, is it a spoiler to share that? I have the urge to sing 'I don't care' right now. But, the story was okay. I like that Patience was a strong heroine. And she was not annoying to the point that I dislike her. The downside was Daniel vs Matthew and Patience vs Eva, had not much differences. They could have been the same person.

    4. Greatly enjoyedThis book was full of plenty of romance as well as suspense and action. The descriptions gave enough to imagine you were there but we're not overly wordy. Look forward to reading more from this author.

    7. Nicely done.***ARC given by the publisher for an honest review***This is my first book by Wendy Vella and I have to say I quite enjoyed this book. No spoilers here This was a fast paced romance with a good amount of suspense, romance and an evil villain or two. A couple good twist and turns also. Patience Allender and Lord Mathew Belmont had a long journey to get to their happy ever after. At some points I wondered if they would get there. The past and the present was their enemy. Patience was h [...]

    8. This book was long to me. Normally I can devour a book in two days with two kids and a full time job but this one took me about four. There were really good parts between the two main characters with their bantering but Patience irritated me.a lot. He broke your heart okay. You were upset okay. He sincerely apologized and tried to show you he cares and your still holding a grudgeokay annoying.Mathew is well portrayed. He was witty and was quick to shoot back words at Patience, I really enjoyed h [...]

    9. So romanticThis book was just full of adventure, attempted murder and lots of romance. It is the third book in the Regency Rakes series and Mathews's story. Mathew has never truly grieved for his brother after his death and the stress of holding it all in has turned him into acting like a cold and uncaring person. When Lady Allende comes back into his life he feels pain because she reminds him of his brother Anthony. But despite that he finds he cannot stay away from her. This story tells of his [...]

    10. The third in a series, it can be read alone. This book introduces us to the Allender family and their connection to the Belmont family. The Allenders have a very big reason to be weary and Matthew Belmont is anxious to find out why. This was a lovely readke Wendy's other books in this series.

    12. 3 stars ~ because although I appreciate the humor and the strong family ties that bind the Allenders together which is part of the main plot, I still could not relate to the 7~year~long~estrangement between Matthew and Patience that was not clear to me. As far as grudges go, 7 years is way too long for an overheard offense and Matthew's indifference at that time. In my opinion, Patience put too much weight on that incident. Except for that portion of the story, the rest makes for a good~paced pl [...]

    13. Tempting Miss Allender is a fabulous historical romance by Wendy Vella. Ms. Vella has given us a well-written book and loaded it with outstanding, lovable characters. Patience is trying to keep her sister and brother safe from her cousin. Mathew is an old friend of the family and unknowingly broke Patience's heart years ago. Their story is loaded with action, suspense, humor, drama and sexy bits. This book held me hostage from start to finish. I enjoyed every page of Tempting Miss Allender and l [...]

    15. Good historical romance I enjoyed the romance between Matthew and Patience. I liked that Matthew had to work to convince Patience they belonged together. There was some suspense as they had to deal with a threat to Patience's family, and that had a twist at the end I wasn't expecting. Matthew had to deal with his grief over the death of his brother and Patience had to learn to trust again. It was heart warming to watch how they grew as they did that and found their happy ever after.

    16. Thoroughly enjoyable romanceThis was a thoroughly enjoyable romance with a bit of suspense and a brave and stubborn heroine and an equally persistent hero. Patience was an awesome heroine though definitely too stubborn and independent for her own good and Mathew was wonderful in the way he pursued her. The storyline was interesting and Patience's villainous cousin Brantley made me yearn to see justice done. Highly recommended!

    17. A fine HEA full of genuine people With her inimitable ability to create believable characters, setting and time, Ms Vella again entertains with a bit of mystery and tension surrounded by a challenging historical HEA. Characters from previous books furthered the plot adding depth and warmth to the story.

    18. I thought the plot was a good one and the characters very well thought out and written about well, the settings were all charming, the story a delight.I didn’t the like the explicit sex or blaspheme and feel a warning should be given to prospective purchasers. These things do not add any value to a book.

    19. The story of Patience and Matthew was fun to watch. I loved how Patience took care and loved her family. Watching her and Matthew interact when he had no idea what he had done wrong had it's quirky moments. I did like seeing how both people changed over the course of the story and realized they needed each other and it was ok to accept someone's help!

    20. Tempting Miss Allender a Real Treat!!This offering in the Regency Romance genre has so much to offer: racy romance, a really scurrilous pair of villains, admirable, kind strong protagonists, and great likable characters. There are moments of hilarity, and moments for wiping away tears. Congratulations to Ms Vella. I will be reading more of her work.

    21. It's not bad.All the yummy part are at the end and shoved in like, oh, yeah, there's supposed to be sex in here. And the heroine is almost stupidly stubborn. That irritate me. It would have been better for the book to have done things differently.
