    About Lauren Mayhew

    1. I ve wanted to have a book published since I was in infant school and now I ve finally made it happen One of the first stories I ever wrote was a re write of Cinderella For some reason I wanted to write the story from the Prince s point of view and it wasn t the best thing ever written Most of the story lines that I have jotted down are a mixture of very strange dreams and plot lines that I wrote as a kid At some point in the future I plan to write a series of short stories that are all about dreams that I have had I won t lie, it might be a bit disturbing.

    1. Downloaded for free from This was a YA paranormal story about a girl with special powers.Lily was an okay character, although at times she sounded delusional. It probably wasn’t a good idea to tell her parents things that she believed to be true, but which to her parents sounded crazy. The storyline in this was about Lily having flashbacks in dreams to another life where she had a brother and a fiancée, and finding out that she was being hunted by someone evil. She also had special powers that [...]

    2. Liliana has just turned sixteen. And she discovers, to her amazement, that she's something more than human. She is a Custos, and she has the unique ability to use mirrors (or any reflective surfaces) to travel from one place to another. However, she is also bothered by strange dreams of another time, a bygone era, when she knew two boys named Asher and Samson who may or may not have been her family. In reality, it is up to her and her friend Justin to discern the meaning of these dreams, which al [...]

    3. I was really surprised how much I loved this book. The beginning was interesting but it didn't quite grab me at first. Once it did, however, it never let go. Lily is just a normal teenage girl- that is, until she begins to dream of another life, another family. Struggling to live in the regular world with the people she thinks have raised her, yet somehow missing people she doesn't even know, life is anything but normal. Nothing is what she thinks it is. The only thing she knows for sure is that [...]

    4. Reality Is In A Dream is a debut YA paranormal fantasy. It's storyline is a complex mix of dream worlds and reality. Liliana Mallory wakes on the morning of her sixteenth birthday from a dream, but all is not as it would seem, she doesn't recognise her parents and asks after a brother who does not exist. At school the strangeness continues when she already knows what present her friends will give her. New best friend Justin tries to help her out and listens to everything she wants to tell him. T [...]

    5. I wasn't that impressed to be honest, the entire first half alternated between really dragging and suddenly brushing past a load of information that would have been better dripped slowly into the narrative. There were also a few spelling and grammar mistakes lurking about. The story itself was really interesting, the execution just needed perfecting. I think it might have worked better as a first person narrative so the character could have internal monologues and keep the flow of the story much [...]
