    3. A little bit Harry Potter, mixed with the Vampire Diaries, this book makes the bold choice of not having its heroine swooning over anyone's chiseled muscles or beautiful, tortured eyes. To be honest it was a refreshing change, and the heroine in question has a lot more on her mind than boys, anyway, so they can wait for part 2 (or 3, or 4) Instead an emphasis was placed on family connections and friendships and how they can make the bombshells that keep falling on poor Regina, a little easier to [...]

Until her 16th birthday draws near and strange things make her question everything she thought she knew. What a fun start to a new Fantasy series! There are a lot of changes on the horizon for 15 year old Reggie, she has a teacher that she likes and is finally taking an interest in school; she has a friend for the first time in her life; oh, and she's started fl [...]

    5. After waiting so very long for this book to arrive (my American friends receiving theirs first) I finally tucked into the much longed for story and I was not disappointed. The book had me hooked from the start. Only disappointing part was that it seemed to end before it began and now I have to wait until 2015 for book 2.I only gave it a 4 star because my copy seemed to have some grammatical errors and in parts some paragraphs didn't quite flow smoothly.

    6. This is another book I have had gathering dust on my kindle for a while and the time seemed right to pick it up and read it.Regina is a teenager who hasn’t exactly had a normal life as her parents move her from place to place and, as a result, she doesn’t bond with anyone, in fact, she’s never had a friend until she meets Imogen.Imogen and her family introduce Regina to the secrets that her own family were trying to protect her from. This author takes you on a journey with Regina as she fin [...]

    8. There are Vampires, witches, elves, and lots of amazing otherworldly creatures to be found in D.M. Singh's, Regina The Monster Inside. I could envision the tale as it unfolded, bringing surprises and adventure throughout. I particularly liked the depiction of the elves and Regina's adorable leafy friend, Gerald. I was fortunate enough to win a signed copy of this lovely book, and, not wishing to ruin its appearance, I gave it pride of place on my bookshelf and downloaded an e-copy from amazon. I [...]

    9. Wow, what an amazing world I have been in, while reading this book.Witches, elves, vampires (not the twinkly type) and more, they're all there, along with an adorable plant, called Gerald I want a plant that snores, purrs and eats biscuit crumbs!! D.M. Singh had me hooked from the start, wove a magical tale then slammed a cliff-hanger at me and left me needing book 2 now!!I hope I don't have long to wait.

    10. This book takes the reader on a journey of secrets and surprises. Regina is a likeable hero and I found myself sometimes identifying with her, sometimes fearing for her as if she were my daughter, and always respecting the experiences and growth she was going through. I don't want to spoil anything, but the other characters are hugely varied and interesting as well. I loved the way the author took risks with the various heros and villains by complicating the story when I least expected it. It is [...]

    11. I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this book. But I kept reading and reading to find out what happened. I do like long books and this definitely hit the spot for length. I also found it didn't tend to ramble too much or dwell on any one thing just to get the word count up. Towards the end there needs to be a bit more editing. I started to notice words repeated and odd punctuation but all in all this is a great first effort and I'll definitely be getting the next one when it is released.

    12. An exciting leap into a magical world unlike any other. This book is full of characters that are unique and interesting. The heroine isn't perfect; she is young, makes mistakes, and often doesn't think her plans through. All of which makes her easy to relate to. Though at times the pacing is a bit slow, the story is otherwise engaging. Great read, can't wait for the sequel!
