    1. While not a debut novel for this author, it is her romantic suspense debut and all I can say is may she continue with this genre for a long time to come! This character-driven story engaged my emotions from the very first chapter. Suspense and mystery seeps through every page but I love how the author takes the time to build the relationship between the hero and heroine. The romance never seems hurried, made all the more edgy by the ever present danger that escalates as the story progresses. I c [...]

    2. Rancher Under Fire by Vickie McDonough, is one of those books that you just can't put down until you find out "who did it!" A very exciting and well written Inspirational suspense romance novel. Vickie did a wonderful job of inspiring us to ask the Lord into our hearts and face the storms of life head on and with His help, we can soar like Eagles above them! The characters, Jackson Durant and Mariah Reyes, are complete opposites.d are faced with many difficult circumstances that they must depend [...]

    3. A very enjoyable mystery storyline, with surprisingly high stakes action for a romance novel, which also comes loaded up with an adorable Border collie, plenty of horses, a terrifically demonstrative single father, and a woman with abusive family members in her past, so as to make the appeal of his protective inclinations extra strong. At one point they even curl up to rest in a recliner together, and I have never seen Christian fiction let its unmarried characters take such physically affection [...]

    4. This Harlequin was filled with lots of mystery and suspense. I found it strange that a female reporter would willingly stay at a ranch with a male she doesn't know for up to a week. The female also knows she is not wanted there. Lots of little happenings throughout the book keep the reader interested. The daughter's and nanny's kidnaping/murder adds even a little more drama besides what's going on throughout the rest of the book. Nicely written.

    5. I am a fan of Vickie McDonough and was impressed with her writing of a suspense novel! She did an excellent job! I love the references to eagles in the book. I love that scripture and she did a great job weaving it into the storyline. It was a new genre for her and I am glad she took the time to write outside her norm.

    6. When Mariah arrives on Jackson's ranch, she expects to get her story and move on. When she is pulled into her handsome host's troubles, she learns love is something that can hit at any time. What I liked is that the author did an excellent job in keeping the suspense. There were enough clues to keep me, the reader, guessing, without completely giving away the villain until just the right moment.
