The book starts us out way back in the 1700’s to a couple by the name of Pierre and Genevieve Marquette. The couple have been forced from their home in Nova Scotia to the Bayous of Louisiana. Pierre has built the lands and built a huge plantation home. Genevieve however comes down with Yellow Fever and passes. Shortly after [...]

    2. Mary Reason Theriot is a proud Louisianian; her blog is an amazing look inside the state she calls home. For A Kiss So Deadly, she enlisted her parents to discuss their family history, which is rooted in Louisiana. As a result, there is a reverence felt in the material that I have never encountered in a book.Paranormal Romance has long held a great interest for me. I enjoy the bizarre. I am comfortable in the dark. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts they all hold an edgy, attractive element not found [...]

    3. A very good read, but 190 pages ends too fast.

    4. I was hired to proofread this book. The only aspects of the story I influenced were spelling and grammar (and maybe the name of the B&B). If you feel my connection with the story makes my review unreliable, so be it, but this is my honest review.Going into this book I had decided that I was not going to fall for Ms. Theriot's trickery. Once I picked a suspect, I was sticking with him no matter what. I'm happy to report that I stuck to my guns, I wasn't right, but I stuck to my guns. I really [...]

    5. Before building the Marquette Plantation, Pierre and Genevieve Marquette lived in a small home with the other Acadians in Nova Scotia. They were forced from their home as was others that traveled with them. It had taken Pierre years to build Genevieve the perfect home when they finally made it to Louisiana. Life had been hard but they had each other and their children. Unfortunately, Genevieve only got to live in it for a short while before her unfortunate passing. Yellow fever hit the area with [...]

    6. I loved learning the back story of the family and how the plantation came to be. The hard work and the ghosts whom roam the grounds. Bridgette is use to her ancestors visiting her, but they seem restless now. This story kept me captivated. Ever time I thought I knew who the evil was at the plantation then I would change my mind and then change it again!! I really enjoyed reading this book. I can't wait to read more from Theriot. If you want to read a good paranormal mystery this book is for you! [...]
