    1. Sarah the scullery maid is on the run from her employer, The Biggest Bitch Ever, and ends up seeking refuge at the forge of Viktor, a mysterious blacksmith who makes funky steampunk devices. Months pass, they get it on, The Biggest Bitch Ever is still having her henchmen track Sarah down (the reason for this fanatic single-mindedness other than that she's a Bitch, we're never told), and there's a battle scene between the baddies and Viktor's arsenal of steampunk weapons.Being a blacksmith and al [...]

    2. This is a delightful steampunk story! Fun, sexy, very unique. Massey has done a phenomenal job creating a realistic 19th century setting, and at the same time added in fun, quirky steampunk inventions. There is no idealized sex going on heree gives the reader real sounds, real smells, at times earthy and primitive and rough around the edges. It's a very funky mix of romance, sex and steampunk elements. I personally love stories that are outside-of-the-box of traditional romance, and this one def [...]

    5. The best part of this book was the blurb. The author's note to readers got me ready for some hot primal sex but even those scenes fell flat. (Lots of rubbing though.) Sarah the scullery maid is on the run from her employer, who is having henchmen hunt her down for no good reason, imo. Sarah ends up seeking refuge at the forge of Viktor, a mysterious blacksmith who makes steampunk devices. Months pass, their relationship grows from barely talking to each other to getting it on in the bedroom. Sar [...]

    6. Favorite Quote: They now began most days with an early-morning coupling. During those times, Sarah grew very fond of riding him. Because of his significant girth, sometimes it felt like she was mating with a giant.Favorite Quote #2: Sarah nodded as he undid his trousers. She never tired of seeing his erection rise to greet her.Scullery maid Sarah Bailey is on the run after being caught in an indecent position with her employer. Her employer had taken advantage of her, and as she was too startled [...]

    7. This review was originally published at Book Lovers IncMy Thoughts:There aren't a lot of romances with working-class heroes. In historic romances, everyone's a nobleman. In contemporary romances, everyone is either a white-collar worker, military, or police. That's a broad generalization, but maybe not too far off.In an early scene in The Blacksmith's Lover, the heroine, Sarah, sees Viktor, the Blacksmith, bathing nude, and it does kind of make you wonder why there aren't more blacksmith-heroes, [...]

    8. Scullery maid Sarah Bailey is on the run from her employer after being caught with her mistress' husband in a situation not of her creation. She knows she's going to be hunted and is desperate for shelter when she comes upon a blacksmith's shop needing an apprenctice. Viktor is reluctant to take her in but eventually relents and they begin an amiable existence together. He also has some strange inventions in his workshop but Sarah ignores her curiosity. The problem I generally have with short sto [...]

    9. This is a wonderfully hot romance. The slowly building romance between Sarah and Viktor is delightful to read and the tension between them is well written and hot.Sarah was a complex character and I couldn't really understand her at times, but one thing I could completely understand: her attraction to Viktor. He's a swoonworthy hero: gruff, bearded, smoldering Do I need to go on?Next to the romance there was a small action storyline that was very satisfying as well. There were bad guys chasing Sa [...]

    10. Asher's review posted on Guilty PleasuresWOW!!! What a roller coaster ride of emotions! I could not put this book down once I started! You go from feeling sorry for the heroine, to sympathizing, and yearning right along with her. I wanted to reach through the pages and smack the heck out of the blacksmith.Yes he was a typical male that got tongue tied around a girl, but at the same time I wanted to tell him just talk!! LOL!!All in all it was a fabulous adventure and it touches lightly on some ste [...]
