    1. I feel conflicted about Gods of Sand and Stone for several reasons, though there's nothing wrong with the writing or the story. Conn Fuilteach is a warrior on a quest for revenge who discovers early in the story that's he's been tricked by Cernunnos, who has apparently gone insane. In his journey, he encounters several other gods, fights some possessed hunters and undead animals, and meets some new allies. Then the story ends quite abruptly, leaving most of the plot threads open for the next boo [...]

    2. Well, I hate to say it, but this fell short for me. I love characters who have experienced something horrible, who’ve been to the bottom, who have an internal struggle that tears at my heart. Conn should have been that character. All the elements were there.I REALLY wanted to get into this story. But I didn’t. Here’s why:It was rushed. The scenes that should’ve pulled me in, that should have torn open my heart, that should have reduced me to tears were too understated, too rushed, tooain. [...]

    3. I found it a little overwhelming at first as he tried to introduce the build up of the story, the main characters and a little history for each maybe a little too quiickly but he still does it well. I thoroughly enjoyed the writing, the style, the story and what's been happening. Its been interesting, some things expected and some things not which is what I like, not knowing what's coming next. I will certainly be starting the next tonight.

    4. Short and sweet, but loaded with bloody fights and a tale similar to Odysseus' journey in Homer's Odessey. We have the broken hero, conversations with gods, a beautiful heroine, and a dark fantasy tale that leaves you wondering just what Conn (the hero) is up against. I look forward to Walter Shuler's sequel to this!

    5. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I won't give any story details. However, I will say that Shuler has a great ability to make you SEE his story unfold. If I were a betting man, I'd say he will go on to become one of the true masters of fantasy fiction. This is a compelling story, with a protagonist who is one seriously bad dude. Watch this writer!

    6. Loved this book. I ridiculously picky when it comes to fantasy books. Never know what I want to read till I'm reading it. And this was it. Fast paced, quick read. That's probably my only complaint. Reading book 2 right now.

    8. Graphic novel converted to book form, and it shows with the level of detail. Interesting story and quick read, I'll probably pick this up and read #2 & #3 when the third comes out.
